Footage shows the moment disaster struck in Antioch, California, when tire tracks and playful donuts turned into a worn-out front fender at 7 a.m. on Jan. 11.

The driver crashed his white Chevy Camaro before trying to flee, but police arrested him for reckless driving and locked up his car for 30 days.

Antioch Police spokesman Darryl Saffold said most sideshows take place in the afternoon or evening, so “the timing was certainly unusual” this time because it was so early in the morning.

The Antioch Police Department joked, “Although police officers have an affinity for donuts, we can admit that not all donuts are created equal.”

It said: “Sideshows remain a major problem in the greater Bay Area and law enforcement officials remain committed to using the full scope of the law to stop people engaging in such activities.

“In addition to towing your vehicle, any driver who participates in a sideshow could have their license revoked for up to six months and be arrested.

“Sideshows are extremely dangerous and affect every driver on the road.

“We all share the road and have a duty to each other to drive responsibly.”

Police added, “Please make better donut selections, maybe something with sprinkles.”
