Celine Dion shared a tribute to her late husband Rene Angelil this Friday, the sixth anniversary of his death.
She began with the lyrics to her 2019 song Courage: “I’d be lying if I said I’m fine, I think of you at least a hundred times, because in the echo of my voice I hear your words just like you’re there …’
The 53-year-old pop star closed the message by simply writing, “I miss you,” repeating the sentiment in her native French.

Celine shares three sons with her late husband, who died of a heart attack in 2016 at age 73 – Rene-Charles, 20, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 11.
She met Rene in Canada when she was a 12-year-old aspiring singer and he was already 38. He became her manager.
His dedication to nurturing her career reportedly drove him to pawn his house so he could fund her 1981 debut album La Voix du bon Dieu.
Rene and Celine officially started dating in 1987 – when she was just 19 years old and he 45 – and got engaged in 1991.

However, it wasn’t until 1993 that she made their romance public, slipping the announcement into the liner notes of her album The Color Of My Love.
In December 1994, they married at Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica, which became the site for their eldest son Rene-Charles’ baptism and Rene’s funeral.
Rene died of a heart attack at age 73 while suffering from terminal throat cancer in January 2016. Two days later, Celine lost her brother Daniel to throat cancer.
In August, Celine released a tribute to him in French, entitled Encore un soir, with a single of the same name that was a hit in the French-speaking markets.

Courage, her latest album, opened at the top of the Billboard 200 in late 2019 – then dropped to number 111 in just a week.
With that, it made history, as no album has ever dropped from number 1 to below the top 100 in its second week, Forbes reported.
A page six insider revealed: ‘She’s upset. All hell has broken loose. The only reason she sold 100,000 was because of the whole package that labels do, but the second week she only sold about 3,000.’

In recent years, artists ranging from P!nk to Kenny Chesney to Metallica have relied on this method to get their albums higher on the charts, according to Billboard.
Meanwhile, Celine became known as ‘Queen Of Las Vegas’ over the past few decades due to her wildly successful residencies there.
After quitting her famed Caesars Palace residency in 2019, she was coaxed back to Sin City to perform at the new Resorts World on the Strip.

But in October, it turned out that Celine had to cancel the first two shows in November, January and February for health reasons. Variety.
The official announcement of the postponement said Celine has been dealing with “severe and persistent muscle spasms.”
Her medical problems were so advanced that even going to rehearsal had apparently become unfeasible.

However, her Courage world tour is still scheduled to kick off in March, starting with a show at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
Resorts World Las Vegas, which opened last summer and has Liberace’s old Rolls Royce in the lobby, has several other acts booked.
Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood have also all been hired to perform residencies at the new property.
