A young mother of five who tragically died in a car accident along with two of her children is remembered as a “loving, kind, wonderful mother.”
Samantha Lee Smith was traveling with her children along Wisemans Ferry Road in Central Mangrove on the Central Coast on Tuesday evening with her children when she ran off the road and crashed into an embankment just before 10 p.m.
Mrs Smith died at the scene, along with her six-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son.
There are concerns that one of those children stumbled out of the wreckage and was then hit and killed by a passing car.

Police are investigating whether the child had already died when it was hit, possibly after being thrown from the car.
Three boys aged nine, four and 16 months were flown to John Hunter Hospital and are in stable condition.
Confused friends identified Ms. Smith after the horror crash, with one expressing disbelief at having spoken to the mother several hours earlier.
“I’m so sorry this happened to you and your baby Sam,” a friend said.
“I still can’t believe it,” added another… “Forever rest in peace with your babies.”
Mrs. Smith had only recently been reunited with some of her children after a grueling custody battle that affected her mental health
The three surviving children were cut from the wreckage of the overturned Toyota Prado late Tuesday night.
Chief Inspector Darryl Jobson said it was a harrowing scene for first responders.
“There is no doubt that they are shocked and disturbed by this,” he said.
“Those on the ground in a challenging and confrontational situation have gone above and beyond their call of duty. I couldn’t be more proud of the work our first responders have done.”
It is also being investigated why the woman was 45 km away from her Laguna home so late at night.

The man who first reported the accident, a 37-year-old driver who is believed to have hit one of the children after the accident, is in hospital for mandatory examination.
“This driver came into contact with one of the children and that impact will be part of our investigation,” said Mr Jobson.
“Anyone who was in that man’s situation, came on the scene and did the right thing by contacting Triple-0 would be an absolutely harrowing and devastating experience for any person.”
