It is not clear what Hoffman paid for the vehicle.

Jakob Greisen, head of American car company Bonhams, said:

“This Roadmaster offers an extraordinary, truly unique opportunity to own the third character from the classic Rain Man movie.

“We are honored to have been entrusted with this special car and we are sure it will be a hit with Buick enthusiasts and fans of Mr. Hoffman and Rain Man.”

Rain Man follows the life-changing road trip across the country taken by selfish wheel dealer Charlie Babbitt (Cruise) and his autistic brother Raymond (Hoffman).
