James Argent shows off his boxing skills at the gym after 13th weight loss

He recently revealed his impressive weight loss after undergoing life-saving gastric cuff surgery.

And James Argent has hinted that his next target could be a boxing match when he shared a clip on Instagram on Thursday showing him punching at the gym.

The former TOWIE star, 34, who has lost a whopping 13 stone, shared the video sparring with trainer Tom McDonnell, who also gave a glimpse of James’ stunning transformation by posting a clip of him before undergoing surgery.

The videos filmed at Essex Fighting Academy show James throwing punches while being instructed by Tom.

The reality star hinted in a later clip that he could be preparing for his next big challenge, a real fight in the ring.

He wrote more than one clip: ‘Boxing match this year? Could be another target for me! Wo do I have to fight?’

After the pair posed for a photo next to the ring itself, trainer Tom showed how far James has come in his weight loss journey by posting a photo and video taken before his surgery.

Writing the caption: ‘It’s crazy what a year can do…’ the video showed Arg in a black tracksuit and even showed he could pack a punch.

It comes after James revealed he hopes to “grow up” and regain half a stone after doctors worried about the rate of his weight loss.

In an interview with the mirror, the television personality said his surgeon had predicted he would reach his goal weight of 15th 7lb within 18 months.

Now weighing 14.5 stone just nine months after surgery, Arg said he needs regular blood tests to make sure he’s getting the nutrients he needs.

He said, “I’ve lost a little more weight than I wanted, so I want to tone up, get a little fatter, and maybe even gain half a pound.”

The TV star also shared how his struggle with his weight prior to surgery and how his love of food quickly turned into an addiction.

Arg put on weight during the lockdown when he started binge eating after battling a cocaine addiction, but he’s now swapped greasy fast food for fish and chicken salads, while nuts and bananas are his favorite snacks.

Arg spoke Tuesday on Loose Women about his eating disorder in a research segment.

He said: “I have suffered from binge eating disorder for more than half my life and while people may think that the condition is quite rare, there are more people with binge eating disorder than anorexia and bulimia.”

During the VT, James spoke to his mother, Patricia, and asked, “When did you notice that something wasn’t right with me?”

She replied, “Lockdown is when it started to creep up on you. You seemed to be gaining weight every week and I noticed you weren’t moving as much as you could have been, and you just didn’t seem happy with yourself.’

James, went on to explain that he was “so image conscious,” saying, “I hated the way I looked. I would wait until dark to leave the house. I think a huge, huge turning point for me was when you walked into my room and I was laying there.

“It was daytime and I was so tired, so uncomfortable, I was so depressed, I didn’t feel like getting out of bed. You came in and you just cried. I remember you saying, “I don’t recognize my son.”

Patricia looked down and said, “I remember that day, James.”
