She admitted, “The show must go on” mentality in her reacted rather than the human being in her, and immediately felt compelled to try to be inspiring while actually crying.

In addition to a black and white clip of herself singing Easy On Me during her intimate performance in LA, Jessie wrote a lengthy caption.

She began: “I posted about the loss of my baby a few hours after I was told. I responded in work mode. It’s safe to say that sometimes I put more effort into creating an unhealthy process of my own pain in front of a camera than acknowledging it in real time behind a camera.

‘The show must go on’ mentality reacted earlier than the human in me. I have to account to the audience for my show tomorrow, and explaining to the world why I might be a little off was my first thought. I need to turn this into an inspiring, I know it’ll be okay, strong moment, because that’s who I am right?

“The truth is, I just had to fucking cry and fall into someone’s arms and sob. But at that time I was alone. I hadn’t processed anything. I also had no idea what I would be going through, not only emotionally but physically after this show.”

Jessie went on to explain how she understands the need to talk openly about a miscarriage, and how her experience of losing a baby “changed her forever.”

She wrote: ‘I really understand now why women talk so much about the need and necessity of miscarriage to talk about it more openly.

‘As I have now learned that what people know about miscarriage (including myself before the past 2 weeks) unless you have personally experienced it. In fact, what people think it is doesn’t represent what it really is at all. How can people support if they don’t know?

“I have never experienced such pain and trauma or felt such loneliness. This has changed me forever. In the most, heartbreaking, but beautiful way. It puts life in perspective in a way that nothing else has ever done.”

Jessie spoke directly to women who had miscarried, shared her grief for them and insisted that being broken, weak and exhausted is allowed.

She wrote: ‘I’m so sorry if you’ve ever experienced it alone or with a loving partner, whether it be at any stage of pregnancy. Losing your baby is one of the worst feelings in the world.

‘I yearn for you. If I could I’d bring you food, get you through the physical pain, I know it takes more than a “stay strong” text now. I think I’m here to say to anyone who may not have been told this, that you can be broken.

‘You can cry. May be weak. To be exhausted from the pain and the bleeding and the sadness that barely has room to exist. You may do this, but YOU must do this.

“Sometimes life just calls us to be human. We know there will be sunshine, but we can’t avoid the rain.’
