Napoli ‘arrange a move in January for out-of-favor Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele’ as Antonio Conte looks set to go on the £69m flop in a bid to raise money for a January spree

  • Antonio Conte is ready to sell it this month to help finance his new purchases
  • The Italian giants see him as the replacement for Fabian Ruiz, who may leave

Napoli are reportedly interested in a deal in January for disgraced Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The Frenchman moved from Lyon to North London in the summer of 2019 for a club record £65 million from Lyon.

But he has now failed to earn a regular first team squad under four Tottenham managers and Antonio Conte is the latest to push him aside with Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg all leading the pecking order.

That has led to rumors that Ndombele may leave the club in January, as Conte wants to raise transfer money to reinvest in other parts of his struggling squad.

according to ESPN, the 25-year-old is attracting interest from Serie A side Napoli this month.

Napoli, currently third in Serie A, see Ndombele as the ideal replacement for Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

According to reports in Italy, the highly regarded Spanish midfielder is attracting interest from Manchester United.

The former Real Betis star will be out of contact in 2023 and Ralf Rangnick sees him as the ideal upgrade to United’s midfield options.

Ndombele, who also attracts interest from former manager Jose Mourinho at Roma, has made just nine appearances in the Premier League this season. He was booed as he trudged away during Tottenham’s FA Cup win over Morecambe last week.

sports post reported earlier this week that Conte has held a crunch transfer summit with chairman Daniel Levy and football director Fabio Paratici over his plans to bolster the Tottenham squad.

Spurs will also listen to offers for Matt Doherty and Dele Alli this month (pictured)

The Italian met with members of the board’s hierarchy on Monday and set out in no uncertain terms what he thinks the club will need during this month’s transfer window.

Tottenham will prioritize a new right-back, with Wolves’ Adama Traore their first choice, plus two forwards – one of whom will be a striker to complement Harry Kane.

As for the expenses, Spurs will also be listening to offers for Matt Doherty and Dele Alli, as well as Ndombele.

They would also consider selling Steven Bergwijn, who is arousing interest at Ajax, provided they get a replacement through the door this month.

Tottenham are willing to use Doherty as an intermediary on incoming deals, and the club are waiting for formal offers for Alli.
