In the episode that aired on December 6, Lorraine and Dr. Hilary talked about the number of unvaccinated people in the hospital amid the wave of the Omicron variant.

dr. Hilary Jones shared inaccurate vaccine stats when he said: ‘Those people who haven’t been vaccinated, we’d really like you to think again and get vaccinated because 90% of people in the hospital are not vaccinated with Covid right now.’

Ofcom later issued a statement in response to the complaints saying: “This program incorrectly referred to the proportion of unvaccinated Covid-19 patients in hospital.

‘We have told ITV that trusted medical experts should pay more attention to presenting facts and figures on public health issues.

“However, as official statistics and research have consistently shown that vaccination against Covid-19 offers greater protection against serious health consequences, we believe that the mistake was not enough to materially mislead viewers about this key point of discussion.”

Ofcom later ruled it would not file a formal complaint.
